A major product rating magazine that I subscribe to will neither review nor recommend ANY battery powered stick vacuum. Now, I know why.
In other reviews, this one was considered comparable to the elites, both Dyson and Samsung. For that reason, and the fair price, I decided to give it a try. Lesson learned.
I will use it for one main purpose – running around getting all of the fuzz balls that continuously appear with four animals in the house. It's strange, the suction seems very good, but just not at the level that is needed for even a fair rating as a vacuum cleaner. My 2 old Hoover Lynx still work, but they do not have that cool, sleek modern design. They are, however, at least 2 to 3 times better at general vacuuming, especially on carpet.
The only reason this gets 3 stars is the design and construction – really nice, sleek adjustible aluminum tubing, easy to use, clean and take apart. As an engineer I believe the flaw is in basic physics and electronics. Look at the expensive battery powered blowers. They can really move some air, but they are extremely heavy because of the huge battery. On a vacuum it would wear you out, but it sure would work.
UPDATE:
Okay, so I have bumped up my rating. After more time I have realized that this thing is great on bare floors, and the more I use it the more I like it for what it can do. I still do not think that anyone should plan to use one of these on carpet, but it can be very handy on my tile. It is fast and turns on a dime. It goes under some pretty low furniture, and the quality of the build continues to impress. Also, the customer service of the seller is top-notch. Just know what you are buying and what it is designed to do.
