competent budget cpu cooler

competent budget cpu cooler
install was a little odd, the fan is not attached out of the box, its connected to the cooler via some very light springs that don't seem exceptionally secure, but they did hold. they do include thermal compound, but im not sure of the quality. I bought some myself separately so now I have extra. notably quieter than the stock cooler I got with a ryzen 7600 and works way better (since install haven't gone over 140F, the stock was allowing 200F). install instructions say to install the cooler then the fan, that made it a bit more difficult so I think it might be best to install the fan first. there's a single 4 pin fan cable and a second 3 pin argb cable, the argb cable is fairly long so it wasn't too hard to find a socket in range.

This CPU cooler runs well. I tested it on cinebench and it kept the temperatures low. The stock intel cooler was doing poorly and this fixed all those problems.

I used this to install LGA 1700 CPU. The CPU bracket retention was plastic. Mounting the brackets was straightforward and the cooler itself also easily screwed into the bracket screws. The installation was straightforward.

The CPU cooler has a lot of different shades of grey. The fan is a different grey color and the blades are a dull white, the top of the cooler is dark grey and the sides are unpainted metal color. The mounting hardware have a slightly different shade of color as well. After installing it, the different colors didn't bother me much.

Since the Intel mounting holes are square, I installed it with the fan up. It does pull air and push hot air down to the GPU but it is like that for the aesthetics and I can't fit any fans on the top of the case. I'll probably change it later depending on temperatures and see if there are any problems. Or see if I can find a reverse blade fan to put there. Not sure but that was the configuration that I started with.

Overall, the cooler does a great job. Especially for the price, it brings great cooling at a different price category.

I’ve been running one of these coolers for a few months on a pc and love it. I love it so much that I ordered another for a new build. Unfortunately the latest cooler I received didn’t have a flat surface on the plate so it has to go back. It could have been so easy to spot but I guess quality control missed it. There is no love lost here. I’m still giving the one that I’m using 5 stars. It works great but it’s a lottery on if you get a good one or not. Right now it’s 50/50 for me.

Edit: I put this cooler on an Intel 12700k and limited the power to 190watts, the current rating of the cpu, and ran cinebench and this little cooler kept my cpu at 88C. Worked so well that I changed out the fan with a be quiet light wing 2500 rpm fam and I’m getting 82C full load for 10 minutes. Fantastic! I’ll take this over having a ridiculously large twin tower cooler any day.

This is being used in a 24/7 home server running 6 VMs. The processor is an AMD 8845HS in an ITX motherboard that uses the LGA1700 mounting system. It came with a low profile Jonsbo cooler with a 92mm fan that was noisy. The CPU would warm up and the fan would ramp up just trying to cool it and boy you could hear it. This cooler fit the case 'on paper', and I was quite pleased to see that it did just fine (Thermaltake V1). If it ramps up at all, I sure don't hear it. Nice. I installed it with the fan blowing to the back of the case so the warm air is blown right out the rear case fan holes, and it intakes from the 200mm fan at the front of the case. The CPU has a max configurable TDP of 54watts, but mine is set to the default of 45watts; for this cooler it appears to be a walk in the park.

I got it on a discount for about 23$. I have top say that this is one of the best cooler I've used so far even better than some of the AIO's I highly recommend it. You get everything you need inside to support sockets even thermal paste only thing is missing is a RGB daisy connecter if you want to daisy chain the fans you have to get one separate. 5\5. note: 2 of the small fins were bent a little bit but it was easy to correct it.
