“Travel Steam Iron, 180° Rotates to Clip, Hang, Flat Iron for Clothes, Curtains, 2025 LeakProof & Anti-Splash Tech, Fast De-Wrinkle, Crisp Crease, XL Tank, Easy Grip, Portable, Apt, Cruise, Dorm”
According to the information provided in the listing, this travel steam iron seemed like a quality product.
However, after receiving it and thoroughly examining it, and also thoroughly reading through the instruction manual, I found that this device hasn’t passed any safety standards for electrical products.
I’m referring specifically to the UL listing from UL Solutions (formerly known as Underwriters Laboratories) certifying that a product has met all safety standards for electronic products.
There are other organizations that also test and certify electronic products, but UL is the gold standard. This device isn’t listed as being certified by any of those other organizations either though.
The only test that this travel iron has passed is the FCC standard which certifies that the iron doesn’t create any radio interference.
It’s not advisable to use a product that generates heat and steam from electricity unless it’s been thoroughly tested and certified by an established independent 3rd party.
Since this device could possibly be dangerous to use, I won’t be testing or reviewing its performance.
